Transformation of Pierre de Coubertin Stadium
Client Ville de Lausanne
Size 150.000 m²
Landscape  Elinor Scarth / Etienne Haller.

Our proposal is inspired and relies on the natural dynamics of water resulting in the singular geography of the site. By connecting and amplifying the existing mounds, we create a coherent and identifiable ground, carrying landscape and ecological values. The stadium is nestled in the park structure, making it a more northerly place, to enlarge its gauge and accommodate the temporary structures in a single area, on the western slope. It is implanted at the heart of this system and the topography of the stands fits naturally into the lines of force of the deltaic landscape.
